Blessing of the Animals

15th Annual Fall Foliage Golf Tournament

It’s a beautiful time of year in a beautiful setting and great fun for golfers.  The Fall Foliage Golf Tournament will be held at Proctor Pittsford Country Club on October 2.  The shotgun start is at 1 pm with registration beginning at 11:45 for Captain and Crew play.  After the perfect afternoon of golf, a delicious banquet follows in Garafano’s Grille.  There are raffles and prizes for longest drive, straightest drive, closest to the hole, and net and gross scores.  All proceeds benefit the work of RCHS.  Click here for more details.

Dog Dock Diving at the Lake House!

The Rutland County Humane Society’s 8th Annual Dog Dock Diving competition will take place on Sunday, September 13, from 12-3 pm at the Lake House Pub and Grill on Lake Bomoseen (Rte. 30).  There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place longest jumps as well as biggest splash and most comical.  There is a $5 entry fee for dogs, and spectators.  Stop by to watch or compete, and enjoy an afternoon of fun on beautiful Lake Bomoseen.  For more information call the Rutland County Humane Society at 802-483-9171, or email jen@rchsvt.org.

RCHS Duck Derby

The Rutland County Humane Society (RCHS) will be hosting our 4th annual Duck Derby at 2 pm on Sunday, September 20 at Giorgetti Park in Rutland.  Join us as we cheer on our adopted ducks as they race to the finish for cash prizes.  There is still time to adopt your ducks! Dog Days of Summer Pool Party

Let your favorite pooch enjoy the end of summer with a dip in the pool!  Join us on Saturday, August 22 from 6 – 8 pm at the Northwood Pool on Post Road in Rutland Town.  There will be a free swim for dogs throughout the event (dogs only!), along with games and fun activities for you and your dog.  All proceeds go towards the care of homeless animals in our community.  Dogs must be leashed, except when in the pool, and Vermont law requires that all dogs are up to date on their rabies shots.  Puppies under 4 months old and dogs in heat will not be allowed to participate.  Aggressive dogs will be asked to leave.  $5.00 donation per dog, donation for people.  Questions:  jen@rchsvt.org or call 802-483-9171.  Thank you to Northwood Pool, and Rutland Town for donating the use of the pool!

Pampering Party Benefits RCHS

Five Elements in Rutland will be hosting a Pampering Party on April, 26, from 12 – 4 pm.  Join us for Hair Cuts, Pedicures, Manicures, Reiki, Massage Facials and Ayurvedic Energy Treatments. RCHS Yard Sale

RCHS is holding a yard sale to raise money for the homeless animals.  Join us on Saturday, May 16 from 9 AM – 2 PM at the Rutland County Humane Society, 765 Stevens Road in Pittsford.  Now is the perfect time to start cleaning out those attics, basements and closets!  RCHS is happy to accept donations for the yard sale.  All items must be pre-priced (nothing less than 25 cents) and in working order.  No clothing, shoes, textbooks, magazines or computer equipment.  Items can be dropped off at the brown building next to the RCHS shelter on Friday, May 15 from 8 AM – 6 PM or Saturday, May 16 from 7:30 AM – 9 AM only.  The shelter will be open on the 16th from 10 – 5 for visiting with the adoptable animals.  Join the fun and support the animals!  If you have any questions please call RCHS at 483.9171.

For the Love of Dogs Variety Show

Lesli Hyland, of Red Dog Solutions, and her team of talented dog lovers will be performing with their four legged friends in front of a live audience on Saturday, April 4, 2015.  Performances will start at 1 pm on stage at the Rutland Intermediate School Auditorium.  Be amazed by dancing, music, tricks and more!  Tickets are $10 for adults and free for children!  Fantastic raffle prizes, and a 50/50 raffle!  All proceeds will benefit the homeless animals at the Rutland County Humane Society.  For more information, please contact Jen Giancola, Rutland County Humane Society, 483-9171 extension 203, or jen@rchsvt.org.

Festival of Paws Benefits RCHS
