Animal Care, Volunteer & Foster Manager
Position Summary
Do you light up talking to volunteers? Do you know the difference between a good day and a great day at a shelter is all in the details — the enrichment that got done, the foster who felt heard, the schedule that actually held together? Then we need to talk.
Tails of Hope is looking for our next Animal Care, Volunteer & Foster Manager — a full-time leadership role for someone who can hold a team to a high standard and make people feel genuinely glad to be part of our mission.
This isn’t a desk job.
You’ll be:
- Overseeing daily animal care so every pup and kitty gets what they need, on time, every time
- Running our volunteer program shoulder-to-shoulder with our Volunteer Coordinator
- Building real, lasting relationships with our foster network — the kind where they keep coming back, keeping our operations humming (ShelterLuv, inventory, protocol compliance) behind the scenes.
What we’re looking for:
- 2+ years in animal care, fostering, or volunteer coordination
- A natural relationship-builder with a coach’s mindset
- Someone calm under pressure who leads by example
- Flexible availability, including weekends
- Ready to lift 50 lbs and love every messy, muddy, meaningful minute of it
