Tiny Paws Season

Spring is upon us, and with it comes the pitter-patter of tiny paws!

As the days grow longer and the temperature slowly rises, so will the number of kittens and puppies arriving at our doors needing our help. This influx of vulnerable kittens entering animal shelters nationwide is often referred to as “kitten season.” While the numbers are higher for kittens, we see an increase in puppies this time of year, as well (we have to admit the puppies feel slighted they don’t get a season named after them!).

This spike in the number of kittens and puppies at our shelter places an immense strain on our resources, including supplies, staffing, and volunteers. Our dedicated team at RCHS is committed to giving these little ones the best chance at a happy and healthy life, but we cannot do it alone.

In 2023, we cared for and found loving homes for 359 kittens and 134 puppies.

Please help us help them.  Click here to donate today.

Your generous donation will allow RCHS to provide age-appropriate vaccines, spay/neuter surgeries, deworming, flea treatment, and other necessary medical care before they can find their loving homes.

On behalf of the kittens, our dedicated staff, volunteers, and the RCHS community, we thank you for your support.

Let’s make this kitten and puppy season triumphant, full of health, happiness, and homes filled with love!
