Fun at Fido Fest and Fast Ducks at the Duck Derby!
Canines
of all sizes and shapes had a ball at Fido Fest!
Everyone had fun playing doggy games, hiking the trails,
watching demonstrations, shopping and more! And the
water was high so the ducks were moving at a fast pace
during the duck derby. Thanks to everyone who stopped
by, adopted ducks and supported us!

Putting the Animals First!
Our
thanks to a number of folks who celebrated special events
and thought of the animals first. A few young animal
supporters had birthday parties and asked only for supplies
for the animals at RCHS. Another supporter and
volunteer, Rhoda Butler, also celebrated a birthday.
Like RCHS, she was celebrating her 50th! She hosted a
party and, instead of gifts, asked only for donations for
RCHS. Rhoda, her family and friends raised $2,000 for
the homeless animals in our care! A special thank you
to our young animal lovers, Rhoda, the Stafford Jazz Band and
The
Lilac Inn for being so generous!

Thanks
to everyone who donated items and shopped at our recent yard
sale. There were treasures everywhere and the happiest
at RCHS were the animals who will benefit from the
additional funds!

1962.
Thanks
to everyone who stopped by our open house and helped us
celebrate our 50th anniversary! Supporters looked at
pictures, told stories and visited with the animals and
everyone had a great time!

RCHS Partners with VT-CAN to get Rutland County Cats Spayed
& Neutered!
New Dates!
Vermont
Companion Animal Neutering (VT-CAN),
a low cost spay/neuter clinic located in Middlesex,
VT, is a long drive from Rutland County. To help out,
RCHS and VT-CAN are working together to make it easier for
you. By dropping your cat at RCHS, volunteers will
transport your cat to VT-CAN where he or she will be spayed
or neutered and given a rabies shot and returned to RCHS
later that day. Dates to choose from include May 13,
June 17 and July 15. To learn more
click here. To
register call the shelter at 483.6700.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Transport Volunteers Needed!
We have many different volunteer opportunities but right now we have
a pressing need for volunteers to help transport animals to and from
their veterinarian appointments to get spayed and neutered. If
you're interested in helping out or learning more please contact Sue
at 483.6700 or e-mail her. Click
here to learn more about our
volunteer opportunities.
Help Wanted at RCHS!
RCHS is always on the look-out for competent and qualified staff to
join our dedicated team of animal care and adoption workers. If you
are interested in learning more about what it means to work at RCHS,
please click here. If you think you and RCHS may make a good match,
please submit a letter of interest explaining your skills,
availability to work, and wage requirements to Jessica Danyow,
Director of Operations, 765 Stevens Road, Pittsford, VT 05763.
To help the animals in our care minimize stress-related digestive
problems, we have partnered with Hill's Science Diet to feed our
dogs and cats only Science Diet dry food. This will ensure a
high-quality, consistent diet while they are at RCHS and we
recommend it to our adopters. The program provides the food for free
which is another benefit!
