Whether you’re managing a feral cat colony, dealing with a raccoon in the trash, or helping a stray dog find its way home, Tails of Hope offers Have-A-Heart traps for loan. These traps are available to Rutland County residents. We have a range of sizes available, from small animal and cat traps to three different sizes of dog traps, and our staff is always happy to show you how to set one up.

How do I get started?
Fill out our online trap loan form with your contact information and card details, and we’ll get you set up.
How long can I borrow a trap?
Typically traps are borrowed for about a week but let us know your needs and we’ll work with your timeline.
What information do I need to provide?
You’ll fill out a short form with your name, phone number, and address.
Is there a cost to borrow a trap?
Borrowing the trap itself is free. To secure it, we place a small hold on a debit card; $5 for cat traps and $10 for dog traps. Your card becomes linked to our online form.
What happens if the trap isn't returned?
If a trap isn’t returned, the card on file will be charged the full replacement deposit: $100 for a cat trap or $200 for a dog trap (per trap).
I've never used a Have-A-Heart trap before, can you help?
Of course! Our staff is happy to walk you through how to set up and use the trap before you take it home.

Fill out our quick online form with your name, phone number, and address, and link a debit card to hold your spot. A small temporary hold ($5 for cat traps, $10 for dog traps) keeps things simple, no need to bring cash or a check.
