Teaching our community about the humane treatment of animals is at the heart of everything we do. Whether you’re leading a classroom, a scout troop, a camp group, a senior center, or a staff team, we’d love to share more about Tails of Hope and the role we play caring for animals and people across Rutland County. Our goal is to build compassionate communities, one program at a time. By teaching compassion today, we’re nurturing tomorrow’s donors, volunteers, foster families, and responsible pet owners.

What kinds of groups can request a presentation?
We welcome requests from schools, scout troops, camps, senior groups, workplaces, and community organizations of all kinds.
Can our group visit the shelter for a field trip?
Yes! Starting this year, we’re offering field trips to the shelter for groups of 4th grade and up. Field trips will resume after September 15th for the 2026-27 school year.
Why are field trips limited to 4th grade and up right now?
We’re starting with older students as we build out this program, and we’ll continue to look at ways to expand access to younger groups in the future.
Can you come to us instead?
Absolutely. We can bring a humane education presentation to your location, complete with a cat and dog ambassador and a curriculum designed for groups of an hour or so.
What does a visit from Tails of Hope include?
We’ll talk about who we are, what we do, and how humane treatment of animals benefits both pets and people. All of this along with time to meet our animal ambassadors.
