We have a 8-person volunteer Board of Directors who, with our Executive Director, create policies, fundraise and provide guidance and direction for RCHS. Click below to learn more about each valued member of our board.
Mei Mei Brown is the president of the Board of Directors. Mei Mei is retired from the State of Vermont where she worked half of her career as a Vermont State Police Dispatcher in Rutland and Addison Counties and then as a District Coordinator for the Act 250 program in Rutland County. Mei Mei is the President of the Board of Safer Society in Brandon and is also the coordinator of the Brandon Feral Cat Program. In her spare time, Mei Mei likes to read, knit and help cats. Walking on the beach restores her soul. Mei Mei joined the Board in 2017.
John Liccardi is the Vice President of the Board of Directors. John practiced law in Rutland from 1971 to 2013, including a period as Rutland County State’s Attorney from 1976 to 1980. He is now retired. John served as the Chair, Vt. State Fish and Wildlife Board from 1987 to 1993 and District #1 Commission, Act 250, member 2011-2019, Chair, 2013 - 2019. In his free time John enjoys gardening (vegetables and uncommon fruits), kayaking, raising and training bird dogs, fishing, hunting, yoga, cooking and wood shop. John joined the Board in 2020.
Amanda is an owner of A&M Vermont Solar, LLC. They are a small solar development company and they work with both businesses and homeowners who are interested in solar. Her areas of interest include permitting, contract review and financial analysis of the projects they sell. They also own over a dozen sites and sell the power to local businesses. She has about 50 sites she oversees on a weekly basis, benchmarking production and troubleshooting. In her spare time she enjoys anything outdoors. She's an avid horseback rider, hiker, mountain biker and is new to the sport of stand up paddle boarding. Amanda joined the current Board in 2022. She is a former Board Member who served as the treasurer for many years.
Mandy Bradley is the Treasurer of the Board of Directors. Mandy is a Partner/Manager at a Rutland CPA firm and has been working there at least 10 years. Mandy enjoys spending time with her family, running/hiking, playing sports and renovating her home. Mandy joined the Board in 2017.
Shannon Bertrand has worked at the same Rutland law firm since 1991, when he clerked there as a law student. He has practiced law full time since 1992. Shannon does mainly civil litigation, including construction, personal injury, probate and contract disputes. Shannon loves to be at home with his wife and their two Mastiffs, Sofia and Bronson. Shannon joined the Board in 2019.
Cathy has been a nurse anesthetist/nurse practitioner for nearly 30 years, working for the same employer for 20 of those years. She has been working at Rutland Regional Medical Center part-time and full-time for 14 years. Her passion is traveling but she also enjoys gardening, cooking and baking. Cathy joined the Board of Directors in 2021.
Kay has been a social worker for the past fifty years, working initially in outpatient mental health, international social work, refugee and immigrant services. She then became a professor at Boston University School of Social Work for twenty years, retiring "early" to live full time in Vermont. She subsequently worked at Rutland Regional Medical Center for almost nine years, becoming the Director of the Social Work Department. She is currently "mostly" retired, although she is the Regional Advisor for Vermont students in BUSSW's online MSW program. Kay previously served on the Rutland Free Library board for six years and several boards in Boston during the course of her career there. Kay loves to spend time with her family, enjoy Vermont's beautiful seasons and landscapes, participate in book group, yoga, pilates and various community activities. Kay joined the Board of Directors in 2021.
Brian has been employed at the Rutland Regional Medical Center for 18 years and has served as the Vice President of Human Resources for the past 7 years. He is currently a Board Member on Vermont's Statewide Workforce Investment Board. Brian enjoys mountain biking, hiking and backcountry skiing (with their Border Collie, Molly). He and his wife enjoy socializing with friends and experiencing the arts, particularly live music and drama. Brian joined the Board of Directors in 2023.
