3 Year Old.  Neutered Male.  Beagle Mix.  41.6 lbs.

I’m a playful fella who likes to chase balls and if they have squeakers in them I’ll happily squeak, squeak, squeak.  I need lots of exercise and play time and I do enjoy walks and hikes with my favorite people.  I need to lose a few pounds so adventures and outings will be good for me.  Of course, since I’m a Beagle mix, keeping me on a leash or in a fenced yard will be best so I don’t follow my nose and take off like we’re known to do!  I don’t meet new people well so a quiet home without a lot of people will be best for me.  I was surrendered by my owner on June 19 because I can be snappy and nippy with people I don’t know.  I lived with another dog and we did well together but if you already have a dog at home it will be important that we meet to make sure we get along.  I have no known history with cats.  I need to go to a home without children because lots of body handling and people coming and going and everything else that goes along with having children around will be too much for me.  I am slow to warm up to new people and I can be aggressive at times with snapping and nipping.  Even on walks when people I don’t know approach me I will snap at them.  I think a home in the country where I won’t come in contact with a lot of people I don’t know will be best for me.  And if people I don’t know come to my home I should be introduced very slowly or put in another room with a favorite toy or game.  When I do get to know you and I feel comfortable I’m sweet and fun to have around but it does take time and patience.  I think an experienced dog owner who will read my body language will be best.  If you’re looking for a companion for walks in the country and you have a quiet home then I may be the dog for you.  If you think I’d make a great addition to your home please stop by and say hello.
