1 Year Old. Neutered Male. Retriever/Labrador Mix. 41.4 lbs.
It’s a new year and if you’re looking for a project I may be your guy! You see, I’ve been adopted and returned a few times because I have no manners and I need a lot of guidance and exercise. The staff has been working with me and we’ve been going for long walks and hikes and the exercise has been great for me and I’m making terrific progress. They’ve also been working with me on my manners (such as Sit, Shake and taking treats gently) and I’m learning to be a better canine member of my family. I think an experienced dog owner who will continue to work with me will be important for me to continue to make progress and become a terrific canine buddy. I was surrendered by my adoptive owner on January 7 because I’m mouthy, not house trained and I have no manners (I do like to jump!). I originally came to RCHS from a busy shelter in Texas. I have no known history with dogs, cats or children but I may do well with them. If you already have a dog it will be important that we meet to make sure we get along. In one home I lived with 2 birds and I killed one of them and attacked the other one so please know that about me. I am very mouthy when I play and I will get into things and get into trouble if I’m left alone too long or I’m bored or I haven’t gotten enough exercise. If you’re looking for a couch potato I am not the dog for you! I enjoy being with people and I’m very outgoing and fun. I think I am a diamond in the rough but I will need a lot of attention, guidance, exercise and an experienced dog owner to help me become that diamond. If you think a challenge like me is what you are looking for please stop by and meet me. I know with a lot of work, attention and exercise I will be a great companion for many years.
