New Small Dog Play Yard!
Several months ago a young man named Joe Dempsey contacted the Rutland County Humane Society to see if there was any need that he could fulfill for his Eagle Scout Project. Joe met with us and we asked if he could build a fenced in yard for small dogs. While we have 4 outdoor exercise pens for dogs, the smaller dogs can escape through the gates and sometimes are overwhelmed by larger dogs playing next to them. Joe agreed it was a good project and set to work designing the yard and gathering donations. On June 30, Joe and Troop 110 gathered together and built the yard. They did a great job, making it secure, attractive and just the perfect size. Not only do our dogs love it but the staff no longer has to worry that the smaller dogs are having as much fun as the big guys outdoors. Thank you Joe and the members of Troop 110!
